Located on Long Hill in Nashua, Gateway Hills Snow Park debuted in 2017 as the first net new ski area to open to the public in New Hampshire since the 1970s.
Construction of the slope (2016) |
Talk of Gateway Hills Snow Park first emerged in the fall of 2016 when John Flatley Company began seeking approvals to construct a small ski area at its Nashua Technology Park property. In December 2016, a 250 foot long Magic Carpet lift was constructed, bisecting two novice slopes. Lights and a temporary trailer were also installed.
Gateway Hills Snow Park (February 2017) |
Gateway Hills Snow Park opened on February 11, 2017 with skiing on natural snow. One slope was adorned with terrain park elements, while the other provided novice terrain. The area operated until the natural snow melted in mid-March.
The area managed to open on natural snow in late December 2017, however a thaw resulted in a February closing date.
Though there were plans to operate during the 2018-19 season, natural snowfall likely prevented the area from opening.
Future plans have included installing snowmaking, expanding skiable terrain, and adding snow tubing.
