Return to Stowe Mountain Resort Profile
After investing in bad winter hedges such as snowmaking and alpine slides, Stowe looked to expand terrain again in the early 1980s.

According to Ski magazine in 1982, the undeveloped "triangle bounded by Nose Dive trail on the main mountain and Perry Merrill trail on the gondola area" was proposed for a new trail complex.

The proposal was for intermediate terrain running from the saddle between the Nose and the Chin, dropping 2,000 vertical feet. Initially, two trails would be cut, served by a new triple chair.

While the complex was proposed to open circa 1985, it was never constructed.
